We find in each of us a genuine need to experience the feeling of completeness, to soar above the common and ordinary, to grasp a higher vision and deeper insight into the meaning of life. We all need to be inspired.

 

Lift me, O Lord, above the ordinary and mundane,

that I might inspire and uplift those

We are challenged in Scripture to keep moving forward in the Christian walk of faith:

Paul says, “Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus”

 (Philippians 3:13–14, NKJV).

What does it mean, “forgetting those things which are behind?" It means to not look back at past relationships, memories, failures, temptations, or anything that might distract you from a single-minded focus on “the upward call of God in Christ.”  It's like running a race with uncompromising determination to reach the finish line and win the prize.  Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, we are encouraged to press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.”
